Michael Dell, Lord King Emperor of all things Dell, was hunted down by the TechCrunch team who persuaded him to slip them a glimpse of the eagerly awaited Dell Mini 5 tablet.
Looking well chuffed and cheery as he scuttled en route to the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, Supreme Being Dell gave the camera crew a quick peek of the Android-powered device, swishing through four home screens with gay abandon.

The almighty tiff between Apple and Adobe continues to ratchet up, with Adobe releasing a set of screenshots showing what iPad users will be in for when they try and access popular Flash-powered websites.
The collection, put together by a Lee Brimelow – who is, apparently, a ‘Platform Evangelist at Adobe’ – reveals a long strip of content-reduced pages revealing the blue ‘plug in needed’ icon – something that will soon become very familiar to iPad users.

Despite being number one in mobile global sales for an eternity, Nokia have been through something of a rocky patch recently, but their latest financial results sees the Finnish phone maker fighting back with gusto.
Figures for the the last quarter of 2009 show the company returning a 38% growth in smartphone shipments over the past year, shifting over 20 million smartphones in the fourth quarter – a hefty increase on the the 15 million sold the year before.

Like a bickering couple locked in a loveless marriage, Apple and Adobe don’t get on, but they’re forced to work together from time to time.
Such is the acrimony between these two, that Apple preferred to cripple its iPad by leaving out Flash support, and Adobe has declared itself seriously unchuffed, responding in its blog:

We’ve already declared ourselves a little disappointed by Apple’s self declared “revolutionary” iPad tablet, and reactions have been mixed everywhere else too.
On the whole, reviewers seem to have warmed to the tablet a lot more than most ‘ordinary’ people who have generally greeted the announcement with a shrug and the questions, “what’s the point of it?” and, “why do I need it?”
We’re not sure if we can answer those questions, either, but read on for some more reaction and comment about Apple’s new tablet computer…

It’s still under development and not expected out until the second half of this year, but Lenovo ‘s U1 Tablet/PC Hybrid has already got us a lot more excited than Apple’s frankly underwhelming iPad offering.
Showcased at CES earlier this month, the tablet packs everything you’d need from a fully functioning tablet PC – touchscreen, full multitasking, automatic screen orientation, 3G, Wi-Fi, onboard camera etc, but comes with a very clever twist: it can clip into a special shell to become a full Windows 7 laptop with a proper keyboard.

The full specs of Apple’s new iPad tablet device have been released for your viewing pleasure.
As expected, the battery is another of Apple’s sealed units and there’s no built in SD card, although optional Camera Connection Kits lets you either import photos and videos to the iPad using the camera’s USB cable or via a SD Card Reader.

Much as we love Amazon’s Kindle, you could never call it a looker, and it comes as no surprise to see Apple aggressively targeting this market with their new iPad.
Their new iBooks site already has the backing of five of the biggest publishers in the world including Penguin, Macmillion and Simon & Shuster.

More details are coming out about the iPad at today’s launch.
Sporting a full capacitive multi-touch screen, the 0.5inch thin tablet will run on a 1GHz Apple A4 chip and offer 16GB to 64GB flash memory capacity, and come with Bluetooth 2.1EDR.

Steve Jobs has unveiled the eagerly awaited new tablet device – known as the iPad – and our first impressions is that it looks just like a large iPhone with its 9.7″ screen – but not as pretty.
The body is chunkier than we expected for an Apple product, with a large bezel surrounding the screen.
