Apple iPad gets UK release date confirmed

Apple has announced that it will start shipping the hugely hyped Wi-Fi model of the iPad tablet in March, with the 3G version following in April.

There’s been no mention of pricing yet, although we expect the prices for the cheapest (non 3G) version to start around the £400 mark.

The iPad uses a new, smaller microSIM card, so you won’t be able to use your existing phone SIM card.

It’s not known which UK networks will be offering the iPad, although Orange, O2 and Vodafone have all been tipped, and there’s been no news on what their data rates will be.
