Scheduled to be arriving in Q3 is the Transformer Book Trio, a dockable tablet that can run no less than two operating systems: Windows and Android.

Looking much the same as their Windows  Transformer Book ultrabook, the Trio packs an 11.6-inch, 1080p screen, with a hotkey letting users swiftly switch between operating systems (this only works when the machine is docked).

Each OS gets its own CPU, with a fourth-generation Core i7-4500U processor powering Windows 8, and a 2GHz Intel Atom Z2580 chip running the Android Jelly Bean experience.

Powered by two batteries – a 33Wh cell and a 19Wh one – there’s a generous 1TB HDD of storage inside the dock and 64GB of flash storage on the tablet.

Now, we’re already big fans of the Transformer concept (the Prime is our day to day laptop) so having a version with the full power of Windows 8 onboard has certainly piqued our interest.

Just how much our interest has been raised will depend very much on the price though: release for under £600 and our wallets might star a-twitchin’.

There’s no pricing details yet.  A hands-on video can be seen here.
