ASUS Transformer Pad 300 lower end tablet offers 1280 x 800 display, 16GB storage, 10 hours battery

ASUS just announced the lower-spec Transformer Pad 300 as part of its new ‘Infinity Series’.

The new tablet is – as far as we can see – more or less identical to the original Transformer Prime, except it now comes in natty blue, white and red finishes.

The 10.1-inch 1280 x 800 display has been slightly downgraded to an IPS number (and not the more impressive 600-nit Super IPS+ panel seen on the original Prime), but inside can be found the familiar Tegra 3 chip, dual 8MP and 2MP cameras and HDMI port.

There’s also 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD), with the battery promising 10 hours of battery life, which ramps up to 15 with the optional keyboard dock.

No word yet on pricing or availability yet, but if they price this baby keenly enough, we reckon it could be a big seller.
