Yikes! The staple of my day ain’t working. How disconcerting. Hope its up again soon – I am sorely unsettled at my desk without my companion web pages, news and radio.
I’m very glad I am not in the BBC web tech department today. Must be bonkers there.

Got the main BBC News page up, and Firefox is still trying to download some content from cdnedge.bbc.co.uk ….
Doing a ping of this reveals it to actually belong to Akamai;

# ping cdnedge.bbc.co.uk
PING a817.g.akamai.net (84.53.132.51) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 84.53.132.51: icmp_seq=1 ttl=57 time=9.00 ms
…

So it could well be that it’s Akamai that has the problem, not the BBC.

hi great to find you
I was merily listening to BBC Radio 7 at 2pm here -went off for about an hour and haven’t been able to get it back since
as we are 13 hours ahead of you – it is now 3am in Uk and 4pm here sound like the same problem
