Blackberry finally gets official Twitter app

It seems to have been in development for an eternity, but RIM have finally released the first pubic beta of their official Twitter app.

Packing all the usual features like automatic URL-shortening, easy photo-sharing, push and message list integration and search filtered by geolocation, the app also integrates with the BlackBerry’s camera, so photos can be shared in a jiffy.

Blackberry finally gets official Twitter appBased on feedback from its prolonged period in closed beta testing, several extra features have been bolted on.

These include notifications of new tweets and @replies/mentions,  profile editing and personalisation settings, and the ability to change the font size and style.

If you’re a Blackberry user and want in on the all-Twitterin’ beta fun, you’ll need to register for a BlackBerry Beta Zone account today at http://www.blackberry.com/beta/.
