Brits: hopelessly hooked on Facebook for mobile

A new study reveals just how much time us Brits spend gazing at Facebook when we’re out and about with our mobile phones (or, more likely, shirking at work).

According to UK-specific data from comScore, Facebook’s 7.5 million unique mobile users spent a colossal 2.5 billion minutes on the site in December 2010.

Although the figure nay seem crazily high, the data should be relatively accurate as ComScore have access to anonymised mobile web data from the UK’s five mobile operators.

Facebook – ahead by miles

You have to look quite a way down to see the next competitor in the shape of Google, whose 9.5 million users spending a relatively brief 702 minutes browsing its sites on their mobiles.

Next in line is Yahoo, followed by – appropriately enough for us weather obsessed islanders – AccuWeather.
