Facebook for Android app adds Places for extra stalkability

Android has finally got around to updating its Facebook for Android app and introduced some long overdue features.

The newly released Version 1.4 adds the Places feature that has been available to iPhone users for some time. This adds ‘check in’ features (a la Foursquare, Gowalla and SCVNGR) so you can tell the world where you are.

The app also lets you see if your friends have checked in to any pub, clubs, cafes or places of interest – perfect for stalkers!

There’s also support for Groups, so you can view your groups and group members and post information to the wall from your handset.

Best of all, you’re now not redirected out of the app to the mobile web version when checking notifications.

The Facebook for Android app needs to be manually updated, so speed your way to the Android Market and get ready to stalk!
