Google’s many forays into social media [infographic]

Google is reportedly set to launch its own social networking service Google Me, but it won’t be the first time the search giant has tried to elbow its way into the space currently occupied by the likes of Facebook and MySpace.
Despite their deep pockets, engineering know-how, customer loyalty and sheer uber-popularity, some of Google’s previous efforts have had a touch of the Private Frazer about them, being “dooooomed.”
