HTC Wildfire bagged by T-Mobile and Virgin Media

It’s only just been announced, but already Virgin Media and T-Mobile UK  have announced their intention to offer the HTC Wildfire, a slimmed-down, mini-me version of the superb HTC Desire.

The Android 2.1 OS-powered handset serves up a 3.2-inch touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera and a slew of social networking features, and both HTC and the UK networks reckon that the affordable package will prove a hit with users.

T-Mobile – who have announced that the phone will be be free on £20 a month/two year contracts – were  suitably enthusiastic:

The HTC Wildfire is a great addition to our Android portfolio, offering customers an affordable way to get their hands on an Android-based smartphone.

The HTC Wildfire is perfect for those who love social networking, and with App Sharing it’s even easier for customers to share their favourite apps with their friends, so they can have even more fun with Android marketplace.

The Wildfire is set for a UK release date of 14 June. Virgin Media are yet to release pricing details.
