Launching on Monday, November 15th and hoping to redirect some MacBook Air-bound traffic is the new Lenovo Ideapad U260, a pleasingly slim and light ultraportable sporting a 12.5 inch display and a Core i-series processor.

With a starting price of $895, the IdeaPad U260 spices up the netbook mix with some upmarket features, notably a 12.5 inch 1366 x 768 pixel anti-glare LED backlit display, beefy Intel Core i3-380UM dual core or Intel Core i5-470UM dual core CPU and up to 4GB of DDR3 RAM.
Packed inside the one piece magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis is a relatively generous 320GB hard drive, Intel HD graphics with HDMI output, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, 0.3MP camera, VGA port, two USB 2.0 ports and Dolbly Advance Audio surround sound speakers.
There’s also a spill-resistant keyboard for cola-dribbling coders, an ambient light sensor and multitouch touchpad with the whole caboodle running on Windows 7 and being powered by a cell Lithium Polymer battery, offering around four hours life.
Measuring up at 12.5″ x 8.1″ x 0.7″ and weighing 3.04 pounds, Lenovo also includes a hard drive protection system to prevent damage if the laptop gets dropped as well as software to speed up laptop boot up and shutdown times.
In line with its hoity-toity aspirations, the U260 comes with gourmet features like a glass multi-gesture trackpad and a leather-textured palm rest with the exterior resplendent in mocha brown or clementine orange finishes, making up a package that looks rather delightful to our tired eyes.
