Samsung UK torment Galaxy SII users with the ICS update that never seems to arrive

Confirmed: Samsung Galaxy S2 to get Ice Cream Sandwich update in UK

Samsung UK continue to tease and torment Galaxy S2 users chomping at the bit to download the long, long-awaited upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS).

Samsung suggested that the ICS Android 4.0 update was on its way on March 10th, but then swiftly did a U-turn and said that it wasn’t actually available at all.

The company then announced a worldwide roll out starting on March 13th, starting in selected European countries and South Korea.

Since then, UK owners have been anxiously checking to see if the software update is available – some every hour if they’re like us –  all to no avail.

Samsung UK has now posted this on its Facebook wall, and it’s another frustratingly vague statement:

Samsung UK is working hard to bring Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) to our Galaxy S II customers.

“We are unable to confirm exact dates as the software testing and approval process is subject to several variables, but we are working as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience.

Bah!
