HP's 'Let's Do Amazing' ad campaign amuses

With the company shelling out no less than $40 million on this TV campaign,  HP are looking to make a splash with the public, with a slew of adverts hitting YouTube.

Labelled with the grammatically worrying tag of, “Let’s Do Amazing,” the adverts are led by Rhys Darby of “Flight of the Conchords” fame, and on first look seem moderately amusing.

Google packs a romantic love story into a search boxSet to air in the coveted advertising spot in the third quarter of the Superbowl in the US is a très romantique advert from Google which manages to play out an entire love story in their search box.

We’re impressed: it gets across Google’s strength as a search engine in a subtle and powerful way and does an excellent job of what ghastly marketing types would call “reinforcing brand values.”

Skating babies advert becomes the most viewed online advert in history

Every Ad Agencies wet dream is to unleash a viral YouTube advert that hits the big time, but none have been more successful than the skating Evian babies video – which has now broken a world record.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the rather scary Roller Babies YouTube video is now the most viewed online advertisement in history.

Microsoft manage some half decent adverts

After the awesomely cheesy  horror of the the Windows 7 House Party videos, Microsoft have thankfully decided to pursue a less chortle-worthy approach with their new adverts for the upcoming operating system.

Fresh up on YouTube are a series of nine short videos showcasing new features to be found on Windows 7 and, to be honest, they’re not that bad (they’re not particularly great either, but at least they’ve progressed past toe-curlingly bad.)
