As world domination goes, this is almost as good as it gets for Googlem with the company currently boasting an incredible mobile search market share of 98.29%.

Fans of Google will be familiar with the company’s policy of adding topical logo tweaks and general anniversary-related japes (like the fabulous PACMAN game recently) and it seems that they’re all getting into the spirit of the forthcoming World Cup.

Microsoft has slipped out a new version of Bing for the iPhone and iPod touch, adding a number of stability fixes, new features and usability tweaks.
There’s already been a million downloads of the Bing app for iPhone, and Microsoft’s ‘Bing for Mobile’ dude Florian Voss invited users to submit their feedback for the latest version.
Microsoft’s onslaught to persuade us Brits to try out a different flavour of search to Google has kicked off, with the first TV commercial for Bing hitting goggleboxes across Blighty.
The advert – the first of the three – can be seen across a slew of commercial channels such as ITV, Channel 4, Five, Sky Media plus IDS digital channels including Bravo, Dave, GOLD, Living TV and Good Food.

Featuring a simple, photo-dominated homepage, the page shows a rather pleasing photo of Avebury stone circle at dawn, accompanied by the cheesy strappy line: “A new dawn begins”.
