Google Voice is open to all. If you live in the US, that is.

Over in the States, Google Voice has been creating quite a buzz, offering a powerful set of free tools that let users give out one number for all of their phones.

Over in the States, Google Voice has been creating quite a buzz, offering a powerful set of free tools that let users give out one number for all of their phones.

The folks at Google have taken time out of their busy schedules to explain how their innovative Google Voice service works.
Sadly, UK users can jog on at this stage as the service is not available in Blighty, and there seems to be no prospect of it arriving any time soon either – for now, Google Voice is strictly a US-only affair. Bah!

Google has punted out a Google Voice mobile web app for iPhone OS 3.0 and Palm Web OS devices, powered by the new HTML5 web technology which makes it possible to run speedier, richer web-based applications in the mobile’s browser.
Apple iPhone users will have to jog on for the time being as the titanic, blame-shunting battle between ATT, Apple and Google rages, but US users keen to lap up the innovative Google Voice service are free to access it on their Palm Pre and Pixi handsets, courtesy of the free gDial Pro app.
The app does pretty much all you’d expect it to (see video below), and lets users have one unified number for all their telephonic and SMS needs.
