Buzie Google Buzz iPhone app hits townAlthough Google Buzz runs fairly dandy from within the iPhone’s browser, the first dedicated app for the innovative social networking tool has been sent out into the wild.

Called Buzie, the app lets users check out Buzz conversations in their local area without logging into the service.

Once signed in, they can then start conversations, or join in with their followers, or just indulge in a good ol’ bout of stalking.

Google tries to win over fleeing Buzz users with security updates

With disgruntlement hitting critical levels after hideous security flaws were uncovered inĀ  Google’s new Buzz service, the company has added swiftly to repair the damage.

Acknowledging users’ concerns aboutĀ  their contacts being made public without their knowledge, the lack of control over who could follow them and the inability to block people without public profiles, Google has published up a lengthy blog post explaining the changes they’ve implemented:

We love trying out new stuff from Google, and excitedly signed up to their new Twitter/Facebook mash-up, Google Buzz.

To get you up and running fast, Buzz automatically sets you up with followers and people to follow, and these are chosen by who you email and chat with most using Gmail.

Google may have their sticky fingers in just about every online pie, but there’s one area where their influence has resolutely failed to have any impact: social networking.

They may own Orkut and OpenSocial, but they’re barely a molehill on the social networking horizon compared to the big boys like Facebook or Twitter, so Google have devised a cunning plan.
