In an unexpected twist, Nokia has announced a new partnership with Intel, with the two companies combining their fledging Linux-based OSs into a single package called MeeGo.
Nokia’s Maemo OS and Intel’s Moblin OS will now be merged to create a “software platform that will support multiple hardware architectures across the broadest range of device segments, including pocketable mobile computers, netbooks, tablets, mediaphones, connected TVs and in-vehicle infotainment systems.”
