If you’re fed up with the puny sound coming from your phone’s built-in speaker, or the less than hi-fi noise coming out of your smartphone dock, it might be time to invest in a wireless music receiver like Nokia’s swishy offering.
Nokia have announced their new Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone, and it sure does look a mighty purdy thing, packing a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen and 512MB RAM, all running on Windows Mobile Mango.
Last night, London’s 118 metre high Millbank tower was transformed into a canvas for an impressive light show to promote the new Nokia Lumia 800 with Windows phone.
Nokia, Gawdbless’em, have just flicked the switch on their free central London wi-fi network, with 26 hotspots now offering free net browsing.
It may have been their high end Windows Phone handsets that were grabbing the attention at Nokia World in London yesterday, but Nokia also took the wraps off their affordable Asha handsets, all running the Series 40 mobile OS.

Following hot on the heels of the top of the range Lumia 800 comes the new Nokia Lumia 710.
Employing the same 1.4GHz processor as seen in the Lumia 800, the handset comes with a 3.7-inch ClearBlack display and has the Microsoft Mobile suite built in.

Nokia has finally taken the wraps off its new flagship handset, the Nokia Lumia 800, and it may well have been worth the wait.
Described as the “first real Windows Phone,” it’s a neat looking device, with an industrial design seeing the handset fitting into a 12.1mm (0.48-inch) thick piece of durable polycarbonate plastic, with tapered edges on the top and bottom.
For the first time, Samsung’s burgeoning sales figures have seen the South Korean company speed swiftly past its rival Apple to become the number one shipper of smartphones on the planet in the third quarter of 2011.

The old Nokia default ringtone is easily one of the most instantly recognisable mobile phone noises ever created, and although it has been tweaked a bit over the years, the tune has remained the same since its 1994 release.
We’re finding it hard to muster any kind of enthusiasm for Nokia’s latest smartphone, the N9, running on the doomed Meego operatating system.
After a long and seemingly inevitable decline, it looks like the long-reigning, global smartphone champs Nokia are finally set to be unseated by upstarts Samsung.
