There’s been some frantic shopping around online as consumers try and bag themselves a bargain HP Pre 3 handset, but after the initial stock sold out on seconds, we’ve been keeping an eye on their website for updates.
HP’s massively discounted Touchpad caused shopping sites to buckle under the strain yesterday as shoppers scrambled to bag themselves a bargain, and HP is set to offer another fantastic deal with the sale of their flagship Pre 3 handset.
HP have posted up the price of their new HP Pre 3 handset for UK denizens, with the company asking for 399 of your hard-earned British pounds to own this QWERTY-keyboard packing marvel.
We’re still gushing vast torrents of love for the fantastic, silky smooth webOS mobile operating system, but we’ve remained disappointed with the glacial growth of the accompanying app store for the HP Pre.
We’ve still no idea when it’s heading to the UK yet, but PreCentral has posted up two video walkthoughs, showing the new Palm Pre 2 in action and its shiny new WebOS 2.0 operating system.
A series of leaks have revealed both the outline specs and look of the upcoming Palm Pre 2 handset, which will (presumably) replace the current Palm Pre Plus handset.

Finally, Brit Palm Pre users can enjoy having their phone as up to date as their American cousins, with the v1.4 webOS update being rolled out across Europe and the US.
The update adds adds video capture to the Pre handset with the ability for users to edit and upload them directly to YouTube, Facebook, or share them via an e-mail or an MMS message.
According to an OTR Global report, no less than three different sources have confirmed that all future orders of the Palm Pre and Palm Pre Plus are being suspended as of today (Wednesday).
As reported in BGR, one of the sources said, “The decision is very sudden, and Foxconn was told to reduce all February Pre forecast to zero on Wednesday and nobody knows whether shipment will resume in March.”
Telefonica – owners of the O2 mobile network – says it has shifted 2 million Apple iPhones in Britain and reckons the future’s bright with good Palm Pre sales keeping the cashtills kerchinging.
Apple’s original mobile phone partner in the UK, O2 lost its exclusivity on the iconic smartphone last year, which it first offered for sale in November 2007.
The iPhone is now available on Orange, Vodafone and Tesco Mobile in Britain.

We all know that the the Palm Pre comes with the incredible webOS multi-tasking operating system, but the fellas at PreCentral wanted to find out how many apps they could keeping running at the same time on the new Palm Pre Plus.
We’ll have to wait a while for these updated models to make it over to the UK, but the first reviews for the new Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus smartphones are coming through from across the pond.
Physically, there’s only been a few minor tweaks to the Pre, with the glowing round button on the front of the phone being replaced by the same ‘invisible’ touch-LED as the Pixi, making the handset look even more like a “polished stone” and reducing a bit of clutter from the gestures area.
Old school Palm OS whizzkid coder Rob at Hobbyist Software has released a new RSS reader for the Palm webOS, called News Feed.
The app is a powerful and fully featured RSS news reader, letting you download feeds in the background and read them offline, with most of the app coding being provided by Palm.
To get you started, News Feed comes bundled with a selection of feeds from sites like the BBC, Engadget, The New York Times, Slashdot, Dilbert .
UK Palm Pre owners can now feel suitably modern as the webOS 1.3.5.2 update has rocked into town.
The main news with the OS update is that Brits can finally get the most out of the App Catalog, which now offers background downloading and the the possibility to manually pause, resume, and cancel downloads.
