In what appears to be a shocking breach of privacy, reports are indicating that UK British cellphone carrier O2 is sending a customer’s mobile number to every website they visit on their phone.

PleaseRobMe website highlights danger of location sharing Tweeting

A new website called PleaseRobMe.com has been created to warn users about the potential perils of using services like Foursquare, Twitter and GoogleBuzz, which let users share their location online and ‘check in’ to places.

By aggregating all those publicly announced check-ins, the site serves up a handy list of people who have left their home and checked in elsewhere, ramming home the point that such information may prove invaluable to burglars.

Google Dashboard lets you check your Google-wide settingsIf, like us, you use a lot of Google services every day, you may be a tad concerned about what data Big Brother Google has on record about your activities.

In response, the company has created the Google Dashboard to let users see at a glance their privacy settings across multiple Google services – and see what information is being  stored about their activities.
