Apple iPad's going to be a bugger to hold

With Apple’s first iPad video commercial now doing the rounds, something has become rather apparent – it’s going to be a tricky beggar to hold.

Take a look at the video and you’ll see people adopting some rather strange and/or uncomfortable positions when they’re usingĀ  use their iPads and we think this might prove a issue for some users.

The video starts off with someone using it flat on a desk, which means you’re going to have to be lurching all over the thing to see the screen (while letting any passer-by see what you’re up to), or you’ll have to use your hands to angle it up to a more comfortable reading angle.

That’s going to make things tricky if you want to lean back in your chair to view the content, so you’ll have to prop it up against something – but then that’ll make any onscreen typing difficult.

Compare this to a laptop, where you can adjust the screen to any angle you like and still happily type away.

Legs in the air

The rest of the video shows users striking some poses that might make Madonna proud, with angled legs, raised legs, crossed legs and knees bolted upright, making us wonder if using the iPad for extended periods is going to be rather an uncomfortable experience for some.

That said, there’s one place where we think the iPad’s flat tablet form will be ideal – and that’s lolling about in bed watching another great Cardiff City triumph on The Football League Show. Possibly.

(Thanks to Liliputing for pointing this out)
