Synergistic sparks and team-bonding explosions have resulted in a new deal which sees  popular travel site TripAdvisor partnering up online train ticket retailer, thetrainline.com.

TheTrainLine couples up with TripAdvisor for added-value iPhone app

The venture promises to “add value to train travellers across Britain,” and sees TripAdvisor’s content being integrated into thetrainline.com’s free iPhone app, letting users search for restaurants and attractions close to the destination they are travelling to.

Omid Golshan, Partnerships Director at thetrainline.com, was ready to spread the love:

We are always looking for ways to provide the best possible service for our customers. By introducing TripAdvisor content and reviews we have broadened the amount of useful information they have access to in the app to enhance their overall experience. This will help them to plan other aspects of their trip beyond travel, making our iPhone app a one-stop shop for anyone travelling by train.

Not to be outdone, Pollyanna Vincent, Partnerships Manager, TripAdvisor, grabbed the mic and starting singing the la PR tidings:

We are delighted to partner with thetrainline.com to help its users make the most of their journeys by choosing places to eat and things to do, through insight and feedback from the experiences of TripAdvisor’s millions of travellers.

Thetrainline.com iPhone app is now available on the iTunes App Store. However, there’s been no news of an Android version which seems a little strange seeing as far more of their customers will be likely to be using those devices.
