Windows Phone 7 Series website goes live

It’s got s crap name alright (“Windows Phone 7 Series” is hardly snappy, is it?), but the initial response to Microsoft’s new mobile operating system seems to be overwhelmingly positive.

Mind you, just about anything was going to go down better than than the bulky, lardy mess that was Windows Mobile, but it’s good to see Microsoft stepping up to the plate and offering something new.

Following on from today’s announcement, a fresh new website has gone up, following the same clean, typographic lines as the operating system’s interface.

A Zune-like menu lets you navigate to the news, buzz and multimedia sections, as well as a curious ‘backstage’ area promising ‘exclusive access’ to related forums & groups;  photos, videos & live chats with the Windows Phone team and  prizes
