Apple iPhone 4 ‘grip of death’ affects UK o2 user too (video)

We’re hearing more and more reports about people using the new iPhone 4 suffering dramatic drops in reception strength when the phone is held in the “wrong” way.
There’s been plenty of reports from the USA from users reporting this problem, but here’s the first UK user we’ve hear about.
In this video you can clearly see how the handset suffers an instant drop in reception once the corner is placed into the palm of his hand.
Interestingly, a user on our sister forums who took back his phone to complain about this problem was given a free £25 ‘bumper’ case – perhaps adding fuel to the rumor that Apple was fully aware of this issue before launch…
