The new Kindle appears on Amazon UK, released 12th October for £89

Amazon have just posted up a page for pre-ordering their new cheapo Kindle tablet, which claims to be “lighter, smaller and faster.”

The new starter model is 30% lighter than its predecessor, weighing just 170 grams, and comes with a 18% smaller body.

The screen size remains the same however, but now comes with what Amazon say is the “most advanced E Ink display,” and offers page turns “10% faster.”

Amazon is advertising the new Kindle for £89 and implores purchasers to “Pre-order now to reserve your place in line,” adding, “Orders are prioritised on a first come, first served basis. Our all-new Kindle will be released on 12 October.
