Way back in April we flagged up Google’s Model Your Town Competition which invited towns to submit 3D models of their community using Google’s free SketchUp or Google Building Maker 3D modelling programs.

The great unwashed were invited to cast their votes, and after totting up the votes, Google have declared the winning town to be Barranco, in Lima, Peru.

Check out the video below, and if you think you could do a better job on your own town, get ready for the 2011 competition!
