Kindle becomes the #1 selling product on Amazon
Amazon.com has announced that their Kindle eBook reader has notched up huge sales over November and is now, “the most wished for, the most gifted, and the #1 bestselling product across all product categories” in their US online store.
Despite competition growing fiercely in the eBook market, Amazon’s revolutionary portable reader remains the one to beat, and is proof indeed that eBook readers really have arrived.
“Kindle is a great gift for anyone who loves to read and it’s flying off the shelves faster than any other product Amazon sells,” frothed Ian Freed, Vice President, Amazon Kindle.
“We’re seeing lots of people buying from one to a handful of Kindles as gifts for friends or family, as well as many businesses and other organizations buying Kindles in large quantities for their employees or customers,” he continued.
We’d love to join in with the Kindle love, but in the UK we’ve only been gifted a half arsed release, with Amazon’s promised “UK-centric experience” yet to appear.
Ho hum.
