Massive network outage hits T-Mobile US

Many American T-Mobile users have been left fuming after a massive outage left them unable to make calls or get data on their cellular phones.
“T-Mobile customers may be experiencing service disruptions impacting voice and data,” said the company in an official statement, with their Twitter page saying the following at 02.00 UK time:
All – We’re aware of the current service disruption. Our rapid response teams have been mobilized to restore service as quickly as possible.
As irate customers let rip on Twitter, the micro-blogging service briefly hit over-capacity, hammered by a stream of expletive-laden rants aimed at the telecom network.
With the company’s backside still red raw from the kicking it received over the recent Sidekick data, this outage couldn’t have come at a worse time for T-Mobile.
At the time we went to press (2.10am UK time), ‘T-Mobile’ was the #1 trending topic on Twitter, with hundreds of less-than-chuffed tweets coming in every minute, although some people were later reporting that the service had come back on line (while others with dead phones were still cussing like troopers).
