Wirefresh’s favourite department store, the employee-owned John Lewis, is going to offer customers free in-store Wi-Fi so they can compare their prices with rivals as they peruse the aisles.

Once one of the UK’s biggest booksellers, Borders (UK) is closing its doors for good today after administrators MCR failed to find any buyers for the newspaper, book, magazine, DVD and CD retailer.
Both Borders and partner company Books Etc (which it owns) will disappear from High Streets forever, with the company blaming their demise on increased competition from online sales and supermarkets, compounded by a struggling retail market.

Being able to pick up a smartphone with your Baked Beans and Cornflakes still seems a bit weird to us, but Tesco shoppers will soon be able to lob an iPhone into their shopping baskets, with the retail giant announcing availability for December 14th.
