Aimed at fell stomping, river-crossing, scuba-swimming, tor-topping types, the new Olympus TG-1 iHS Tough camera is a rugged sharpshooter packed in a water, freeze, crush, shock and dust-resistant casing.
The camera sports a 12MP 1/2.3″ CMOS sensor, and a speedy f2 4x optical zoom offering a useful 25-100mm range.
Around the back is a 3-inch, 610,000-pixel OLED display, and as well as movie capture at 1080p, there’s a slew of scene modes like portrait, landscape, night scene, night + portrait, indoor, self-portrait, sunset, fireworks, cuisine, beach & snow plus Magic art filters.
Olympus say that TG-820 iHS will keep on doing its stuff up to 40 feet underwater, and can bag photos at up to 3 fps or up to 200 pictures for fast-action shots.
There’s no official UK release date or pricing yet, but it looks like this all-weather number will retailing for around $400 in the US.
