With the untimely demise of HP’s interest in webOS as a hardware platform, UK retailers have starting offloading the HP Touchpad at outrageously low prices (scroll down for listing) .

Already selling out

Currently, PC World, Dixons and Currys are offering the 9.7″ webOS-powered tablet for just £89.99 for the 16GB model and £115.99 for the larger 32GB tablet – making massive savings of £309 and £363 respectively.

Other retailers are expected to start offloading their HP stocks at the same price today, and it really is a case of first come first served – this is an offer that won’t be repeated ever again!

Not surprisingly, there’s already been a veritable stampede for these tablets, and as a result, vendor websites have been regularly bucking under the strain.

Some have crashed completely, while others keep serving up random messages.

Low on apps, but easily worth the dosh

Although apps are going to be thin on the ground, the tablet is a perfect web browsing/emailing device and at this kind of price represents an absolute bargain.

There’s already been a basic Android port written for the TouchPad with more development coming up.
