Weather HD for the iPad – lush, gorgeous, stunning – but a bit OTT

Weather HD for the iPad - lush, gorgeous, stunning - but a bit pointless

Like most Brits, we’re always interested in the weather, with a slew of weather apps usually being the first things to get installed on any new gadget we buy.

We’ve literally installed hundreds of the things over the years, but have to say none come close to the gorgeously graphic beauty of Weather HD for the iPad.

Lush graphics

Unquestionably, the prettiest way to look up weather information we’ve ever seen, forecasts are represented by hypnotically beautiful, looped high definition videos of clouds, rain and wind.

It’s great, but…

For all its beauty, the bottom line is that all it does is display basic weather information and play a pretty video loop in the background.

We reckon you’re soon going to get bored with all that over the top animation swirling about if all you want to do is just quickly check the weather before you head down the pub.

Bargain priced

Still, it’s cheap enough at a mere 59p/$0.99, and if you want something to impress your pals or just something pretty to gaze at, it’s well worth a download. Heck, we’d like something like this on our phone too, even if we’d hardly ever use it.

It’s now available on the App Store: http://itunes.apple.com.
