Google Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 models to get tasty KitKat update starting today

Here’s some good news for owners of the Google Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10 models tablets – a ‘tasty’ update to the latest version of Android – KitKat 4.4 – is now being served up.

Here’s the official announcement:

Starting today, Nexus 7 (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10 will be getting a tasty update to Android 4.4, KitKat. Stay tuned, Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 versions with mobile data will be getting the update soon!

The Android 4.4 KitKat update introduces a host of  new features, including improved performance for budget smartphones, a redesigned launcher with rather natty translucent UI elements, smarter caller ID, combined messaging.  and a closer pairing with Google Now.
