
Nokia have announced their new Nokia Lumia 900 smartphone, and it sure does look a mighty purdy thing, packing a 4.3-inch ClearBlack AMOLED 800 x 480 capacitive touchscreen and 512MB RAM, all running on Windows Mobile Mango.

We’re sure it’s just one crazy coincidence (after all, adverts usually take a long time to produce) but there’s some astonishing similarities between Microsoft’s promo advert for their new Windows Phone 7 Series mobile operating system, and the one we saw from Palm last week.

Palm has posted a smaller-than-expected loss in its first quarter results, with sprightly Pre sales forming the “vast majority” of the 823,000 phones shifted.

The figures paint a rather confusing figure for investors. Palm said it had unadjusted losses of $168m for the last three months, with revenues plummeting 82% down to $68m from the same period last year.
