Steve Jobs has taken to the stage and is keen to big up Apple’s achievements, with “one iPad selling every 3 seconds.”

It’s  magic. Apparently

On the huge screen behind Jobs an email sent to Steve Jobs has been displayed saying, “It is magical, I know it because I got this email: I was sitting in a café with my iPad, and it got a girl interested in me!. So there’s proof.”

Oh dear. Back to technology, Jobs is throwing around stats with glee:

We’re in 10 countries today, we’ll be in 19 by July. So there are now 8,500 iPad apps in the app store. It can run iPhone apps too. These 8500 apps have been downloaded over 35m times. That’s about 17 apps per iPad that have already been downloaded. ..

Book sales soars

The iPad now accounts for 22% of all eBook sales, with 5 million books being downloaded in the first 65 days, with the iPad now being able to add new bookmarks, with a new page displaying your notes and bookmarks.

PDF support is also coming later this month.
