Eleven years of Google in two minutes

This snappy YouTube video documents Google’s rise and rise from their beginnings in Stanford, USA, eleven years ago.

Originally named ‘Backrub,’ the company was helped by some funding from Yahoo at the start (maybe they’ve regretted that a bit since) and the video runs through some of the notable events from Google’s history.

“From Stanford to Mountain View and around the world, featuring many different products, starting with BackRub (Search) up to Google Wave, StreetView and Chrome…”

PS Look out for the Easter egg in the video!

  1. In a strange way, it feels like they’ve been around longer. I first used the web in 1994, and I’d swear I’d been using Google all along.

    Obviously not, though…..
