Star Wars Uncut: fans to recreate entire movie online

Star Wars Uncut: fans recreate entire movie onlineStar Wars fans. To be honest, they scare us a bit with their weird obsession with a series of children’s films that were cheesy to start off with and certainly haven’t got any better with age.

We could understand it if the target for their undying love was for quality, genre-defining sci-film classics like Blade Runner or 2001: A Space Odyssey, but Star Wars we just don’t get.

But hey! Maybe we’re the losers in all this because there sure seems to be enough people getting enjoyment out of the franchise, so we thought we’d share some clips made by Stars Wars geeks endeavouring to make an entire movie out of fan-generated scenes from the film.

Over 470 clips have been added so far to the user-generated version of Star Wars: A New Hope, with the Star Wars Uncut website coordinating the, err, masterpiece.

It all seems to be coming along nicely too, with a trailer being released along with some clips of finished scenes, showing how effective the web can be for corralling and focusing the minds of sci-fi obsessed nutters aficionados.
