Adobe Reader hits the Android Market

Adobe Reader hits the Android Market

Quietly shimmying unannounced into the Android Market store is Adobe’s PDF Reader app, their second free app for the Android platform.

We loved their Photoshop release (still one of the most used apps on both our Android and iPhone handsets), and this official PDF client should prove a handy addition.

The new Adobe Reader ap can open PDF files as email attachments and on the web, with users able to navigate documents with multi-touch gestures like pinch zoom, double tap zoom, flick scrolling & panning.

No local PDF viewing

There’s also a handy reflow view feature which fits the page contents to the screen for easy viewing, although frustratingly there’s still no support for opening locally stored PDF files.

Jog on, G1-ers

If you want to get jiggy with some PDF fies on your Android handset, note that you’ll need Android v 2.1 and above, a 550 MHz processor, 256 MB of RAM, and4.3 MB of available disk space – so G1 users can jog right on, moaning to themselves about how unfair everything is.
