Facebook bags 44% of online sharing, MySpace continues path to oblivion

Huzzah! It looks like we’ve got time for one more infographic before the year’s out, and this one comes filled with facts from the sharing widget AddThis, which is installed on more than 7 million domains and claims to reach over a billion users every month.

The infographic dishes out some interesting facts’n’stats about our online sharing habits, noting that 44 per cent of shares occur through Facebook (up a hefty 11 per cent from last year), with shares over Gmail soaring 395%, way above StumbleUpon, Facebook and Twitter.

Unloved MySpace

The desperately downward plight of shunned social networking sites Friendster and MySpace is reflected by their shares slumping 20% and 31% respectively.

Like all surveys and infographics, they’re always best consumed with a wee pinch of salt, although given the numbers involved, we’d say this survey paints a reasonably accurate picture of what the sharing landscape might look like.
