Samsung have pulled the signals to green to let their new 4G LTE smartphone handset, the Samsung Galaxy Express, thunder into the public glare.

Sent steaming out of its shed a month ahead of Mobile World Congress, the new model is no branch line chuffer, with the fat controller at Samsung declaring it to be a “feature-rich multimedia powerhouse that makes 4G LTE’s dazzlingly fast network accessible to everyone.”

The feature set is certainly impressive, although still pegged back a notch or two from the company’s flagship Samsung Galaxy S III model.

The Express will thunder down the retail tracks sporting a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus 800 x 480 pixels screen (not quite as fab as the SG3’s 4.8-inch display), powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Running Android Jelly Bean with TouchWiz, there’ll also be a 5-megapixel camera on the back and a front facing 1.3-megapixel camera for the video chit chat.

Other features include  S Beam, A-GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth 4.0, a microSD card slot (offering up to 32GB extra storage), with the beefy 2000mAh battery promising a reasonable lengthy time between charges.

There’s currently no confirmation that this Express will be stopping at the UK, nor has there been any indication of price, although we think it’ll be more in the Saver category than First Class.
