The result of a collaboration with LG, Google’s Nexus 4 packs in a ton of fantastic features at a price that might make even die-hard Apple fanboys think twice before having to shell out considerably more cash for the latest iPhone 5.
Dominating the front of the handset is a generous 4.7-in. True HD IPS display with the trademark Nexus-style curved glass, in a package that measures 2.7 x 5.3. x 0.36 inches thick and weighs 4.9 oz..
The screen is something of a beaut too, supporting a resolution of 1280 x 768 with 320ppi, and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
Inside can be found a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor along backed by 2GB of RAM, which should give the Nexus enough elbow grease to whiz through anything you might like to throw at it.
Around the back can be found a 8-megapixel camera, with a 1.3-megapixel shooter on the front for video chat and those essential Facebook gurning self-portraits.
Available in 8GB or 16GB flavours, the Nexus blots its copy book by not providing any kind of SD card slot.
The beefy 2100mAh battery promises 15.3 hours of talk-time and 390 hours of standby, and there’s support for wireless charging, something we’ve been fans of ever since the Palm Pre was released.
The 8GB version of the device will be available for $300 and the 16GB version for $350 in the US, while in the UK prices are set for £239 for the 8GB and £279 for the 16GB. Considering the specs, this looks like something of a bargain to our eyes.
