Motorola has slammed its Android Honeycomb-powered 10.1 inch Xoom tablet on the table and it’s proving to be something of a hot cookie.
Powered by a 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 CPU, the tablet’s screen supports a decent 1280 x 800 resolution, and there’s a 5 megapixel rear facing camera with dual LED flash built in, backed by a 2MP front facing camera for video chats.
Measuring 249.1mm x 167.8mm x 12.9mm, the Xoom supports 720p video recording and 1080p video playback, while connectivity options come in the shape of 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and micro USB.
There’s a fairly generous 32GB of onboard storage plus microSD slot, with the battery claimed to keep you entranced through no less than 10 hours of video playback.
The Xoom also comes with a built-in gyroscope, barometer, e-compass, accelerometer and adaptive lighting.
4G coming in Q2
Motorola is promising 4G/LTE connectivity in a Q2 2011 update, while the tablet is set to go on sale in the first quarter on the year on the Verizon network in the US.

The Motorola XOOM device will launch as a 3G/Wi-Fi-enabled device in Q1 2011 with an upgrade to 4G LTE in Q2. Starting in Q2 2011 the Motorola XOOM will be a 4G LTE/Wi-Fi- enabled device.
