Samsung Galaxy Note adverts pull out the stops to really take the p*ss out of Apple fans

With most of our days spend looking at dour promo videos accompanied by deep voices telling us how great a product is, we’ve grown to appreciate Samsung’s amusing stabs at Apple more and more.

Although Samsung and Apple may be locked in a host of incredibly tedious legal battles (more about those later), the South Korean giant just can’t resist taking the rise out of Apple fanboys and fangirls camping outside stores waiting for the latest iPhone.

There’s been much discussion about what kind of technology is best for students, with conflicting opinions arguing over the likes of the iPad and education-targeted machines like the Lenovo X130e.

While we’ve taken a keen interest in the debate, we have to admit we’d forgotten all about Google’s Chromebooks as a tool for classrooms- yet it seems they are quietly gaining (some) traction in US schools.

Google on SOPA: 'Don't Censor The Web'

In  line with the web-wide protests taking place today, Google has issued a strong statement voicing its opposition to the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House.

Google say that these bills won’t get rid of pirate sites, arguing that offenders would just change their addresses in order to continue their criminal activities.

The search engine giant says that are ‘better ways to address piracy than to ask U.S. companies to censor the Internet.’

Minecraft updates to v1.1, game now attracts over 20 million registered users

The hugely popular world-building game Minecraft has just received an upgrade to version 1.1 has, with developer Markus Persson (AKA Notch) announcing on Twitter that registered users have just passed the 20 million mark.
